Industry leaders, educators and practitioners representing K-12, higher education, philanthropy, business, and government will join forces at the 2016 Florida College Access Summit May 11-12 in Orlando. The robust program includes sessions on college affordability, Florida’s diverse student populations, innovative scholarship models, non-academic supports for college students, career pathways to postsecondary credentials, aligning workforce needs with postsecondary programs and much more! The Better Together opening keynote will be delivered by Eric Waldo, Executive Director of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative. Waldo’s keynote will highlight the impact and importance of collaborating to educate American students. Additionally, Michael Preston, Ed. D, from The Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities and experts from FIU, UCF & USF will participate in two important sessions:

Better Together: The Student Perspective
A dynamic panel of students and student leaders will discuss the challenges students face and solutions to overcome obstacles.

Florida’s Unique and Changing Diverse Student Populations
This informative session will take a close look at how student data can be used to predict trends and better support student success.

Also noteworthy, Madeline M. Pumariega, Florida College System Chancellor will deliver the Future is Bright closing keynote presentation. Pumariega’s currently leads the Florida College System which serves over 800,000 students at 28 colleges throughout the state.
