In 2015 the Florida Consortium hosted our first Student Success Conference at the University of Central Florida. This introductory event was devoted to announcing our unique collaboration and linking experts across our large diverse institutions. Since then, we’ve endeavored to continually improve this annual convening. Now in its fifth year and with the University of South Florida’s partnership role, the National Student Success Conference has evolved and showcases best practices and innovative approaches to student success. Next week we expect over 300 attendees hailing from all over the country as well as our metro regions.
As you can imagine we are very excited! Our esteemed roster of plenary visionary presenters are some of the best and brightest in higher education. Check out the agenda to familiarize yourself with the innovative education sessions. We’d be remiss if we didn’t point out the sessions led by experts from Florida International University, University of Central Florida and University of South Florida.
Here’s a snapshot of those sessions:
- LOST IN TRANSLATION: CAREER READINESS & STUDENT SUCCESS
- REDESIGNING HIGHER EDUCATION AROUND THE 21ST CENTURY STUDENT
- STRATEGIC NATIONAL ARTS ALUMNI PROJECT
- CREATING A CAREER EDUCATION UNIT IN STUDENT ADVISING
- TRANSFER SERVICES NETWORK: EMPOWERING STATEWIDE ADVOCACY FOR TRANSFER SUCCESS
- TRANSFORMING STUDENT SUCCESS ONE STUDENT AT A TIME THROUGH BOTTOM TO TOP ACTIVATION

My advice to you, review the conference schedule write down at least three things you want to get out of this year’s conference before you arrive. Also important take full advantage of the expo and networking. Pack lots of business cards, connect with your fellow attendees on LinkedIn, and schedule follow up meetings while you’re at the conference.
See you next week at the National Student Success Conference.
